Problem: I can't watch videos on my computer

Solution 1: Your computer might not have the right software installed to watch the kind of video your camera takes. Install the software that came with your camera, or as an alternative, Google "VLC" for a great video player that will install on most computers and play almost all kinds of video.

Problem: I can't transfer videos to the computer via USB.

Solution 1: 1) Check your USB cable is plugged in fully.
2) Check your camera is connected to a power source, the best is mains power (even if your camera has a good battery).
3) You might have to put the camera into "play" more (rather than "record" mode.

Problem: I connected the xs100 to the TV, the screen showed what it was pointing at but the buttons did nothing and now it has frozen and won't turn off.

Problem: about 50% of the time when i push the record button forward, it will record for 5-30 seconds and then stop recording by itself, fully charged, empty disk, but takes photos fine.

Solution 1: *Update from asker* I contacted polaroid direct and they were very helpful, they said when using a mac to delete files, it can leave corrupt files on the disk which causes the problem. Best way to solve is to format the disk using the camera itself plugged into a screen! I also reset each time for good measure!

Solution 4: the only way to format the card specifically for the Polaroid camera is through a television. just follow the format procedure in the manual, I just passed 9 hours straight trying to solve the exact same problem, and this is the only way it worked for me. let me guys know if you find this helpful.

At some point I must have swapped the memory card I was using. They were both Class 10 speed rated cards but one or both must have stopped performing as required. I had problems with corrupted video files and the camera stopping after a few seconds of recording. While trying the memory card formatting step as a fix, which didn't help, I happened to notice a quick error message that popped up on the TV while I was testing. It said,, "Memory card too slow." as it shut off. I was using Polaroid 32 GB High Speed Class 10 MicroSDHC Flash Memory Card. I then ordered a Transcend 32 GB MicroSDHC Class 10 UHS-I/U3 Memory Card with Adapter 95 Mb/s (TS32GUSDU3) and now it works great! *** Ultra high speed or at least real world high speed seems to be critical. ***

Problem: when i charge my xs100 the red led doesn't turn off, but i think the battery is charging.

Solution 1: It's happening when your Polaroid XS100 is completely dead. Let it charge for 1 hour. Then, disconnect it. Open it and make a short video (about 1 min). Stop Recording and turn off your cam. Connect it again to the computer and now the red light should appear.

Problem: I can't connect my camera on my PC because windows doesn't recognize anything... someone can resolve my problem?

Solution 1: I would suggest first trying to download and install the latest driver for your camera. (Google: Polaroid XS100 Driver). If that doesn't work, try the camera with a different cable or even a different computer.

Problem: My camcorder won't focus on close-up objects

Solution 1: Your camcorder's autofocus is probably having problems locking on to objects in the foreground. In the settings menu, choose the macro function where available. You'll see it shown with an icon of a small flower.

Problem: I'm having difficulty in connecting the camera to my PC. Both the camera and the PC lock up and freeze when I connect them and turn the camera on.

Solution 1: Go to the Polaroid Website and make sure you have downloaded the correct drivers for Windows XP. It sounds like it could be a driver issue.

Problem: Video automatically cuts out after about 25 minutes. How can I prevent this?

Solution 1: Some computers/devices have difficulty if the file is over 4Gb. If the file is about 4Gb in size, that might be why it's cutting out. Can you format the card using NTFS?
0 out of 0 people found this solution helpful. Solution 2: I believe that the unit stops a file at around 35 minutes and then automatically begins a new file. This is to make sure that the file doesn't get too big (i.e. over 4GB).

I don't think you need to reformat it or worry about it. I don't think this feature can be turned off.
